Cookie and Web Storage Notice
BiteCycle web pages use limited browser-side storage and platform technologies. These are used primarily for sign-in, shared-list collaboration, language or identity continuity, security, and service diagnostics.
1. Technologies used
- Local storage or shared preferences may keep web guest identifiers, display names, language choices, and collaboration state.
- Firebase and related services may use authentication state, app-check tokens, security identifiers, and messaging tokens.
- Browser cache may store app assets, icons, images, or temporary files to improve performance.
2. Purpose
- Keep users signed in or recognized during shared-list participation.
- Protect the service against abuse and unauthorized requests.
- Remember language and interface preferences.
- Load the web app efficiently and troubleshoot service issues.
3. Managing storage
Users can clear browser cookies, site data, and local storage through browser settings. Clearing storage may sign the user out, remove web guest identity, reset preferences, or interrupt shared-list participation.
4. Homepage and guest preferences
The homepage and legal pages use the language in their URL where provided; the homepage otherwise uses the browser language. Browsing product features and switching scenes on the homepage does not upload food data, create an account, or submit an AI request.
Shared shopping pages can store a randomly generated web guest identifier, display name, and setup status on your device. These help recognize your collaboration session. They are separate from a registered account; clearing site data can create a new guest identity on a later visit. Shared activity already saved on the service is not deleted merely by clearing browser storage.
